The winter solstice is the one date of the year with the least amount of daylight. This year, it will appear on Dec. 21. Before that, though, you have the chance to brighten up the season at the upcoming Winter Solstice Artists Market from Lowe’s Mill ARTS & Entertainment on Dec. 19. Pick out the greatest gifts to put under your tree at this festive event!
What is the Winter Solstice Artists Market?
December sure has been moving quickly. And for many of us, that means we’re still working to check off all the gifts from our lists. Don’t worry though—you can find something lovely for the art fans in your life at the Winter Solstice Artists Market. Visitors can browse and buy to their heart’s content on Saturday, Dec. 19.
What is Lowe’s Mill ARTS & Entertainment?
Lowe’s Mill ARTS & Entertainment is the place that will be hosting the Winter Solstice Artists Market. That’s not all it does! This cool gallery got its start in 1901 as a textile mill—so that’s partially where it got its name. Then, in from the 1940s to the 1970s, it produced boots. Now, it’s under new ownership! It also has new objectives: working as a studio for creators, a place for the public to visit and discover more about art, and of course hosting events like the Winter Solstice Artists Market.
The Winter Solstice Artists Market will take place at Lowe’s Mill ARTS & Entertainment at 2211 Seminole Drive Southwest. It will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 19. There’s no need to buy tickets—it’s free for the public to attend!
Your safety matters! Before you head over to the upcoming market, please remember to heed the following regulations. First of all, Lowe’s Mill has specified that all attendees must wear a mask—so don’t forget yours! You should also stay six feet or further from those not in your household. Additionally, remember to wash your hands thoroughly and try not to touch any art pieces, unless you intend to buy them. Thank you for keeping our community healthy throughout the holiday!
Still on the hunt for gifts to wrap? Breathe in, breathe out—there’s no need to fret. The Winter Solstice Artists Market will roll around in just three days—and you can find something fantastic for sale there.
The holiday season has us all thinking about home. And if yours isn’t as sweet as you would like, Summer Place would love to welcome you into our community. View our floor plans, photos, and application info online. As for learning more about local events and venues, visit our blog here.
