Many of us just plain miss going to the movies. After all, it’s just not the same watching a film on your TV! Well, we can always return to a fan-favorite classic: the drive-in! Not only does it offer a chance to see flicks on the big screen, but the way drive-ins operate also means we can social distance. MidCity District has worked hard to give us a simple and safe entertainment option with this throwback theater. If you want to see a show the old-fashioned way, check out the drive-in movies in Huntsville on Saturday evenings.
More on the Drive-In Movies in Huntsville
MidCity District is sponsoring drive-in movies in Huntsville—and you’re welcome to attend. All you have to do is hop in the car and drive. They even have live music before the main event, refreshments, and food from local vendors.
Because new movies are not being traditionally released at this time, the drive-in will be showing previously-released movies. Whether you’ve missed some sessions at the box office or you want to revisit one of your faves, MidCity District’s drive-in has selected some incredible winners, like “Wonder Woman” and “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” over the past few weeks.
Preventing the Spread of COVID-19
Currently, we’re doing our part to social distance. That means crowded places like theaters and malls are closed. Drive-ins, on the other hand, give a barrier between different parties, so that they can safely explore the outside world again.
The drive-in also offers spots with free hand sanitizer, so that you can prevent the spread of germs. Please do your part by wearing a face mask when you leave your car and staying six feet away from others if you step out of your car. Thank you for keeping everyone safe and healthy!
Did we mention that this event is free for everyone to attend? Just make sure you arrive on time, as there are limited parking spots. It takes place on Saturdays from 8 to 11 p.m., with doors opening around 6 p.m. The next movie, which has yet to be announced, will run on June 20. The one after that will play on June 27.
Finally, you can find the MidCity-District-sponsored drive-in movies at 5901 University Drive in Huntsville, AL.
