What is the 6th Annual Alabama Women in Jazz Festival?
Alabama has always been a home for jazz music! Even though the 6th Annual Alabama Women in Jazz Festival is a tradition that began back in 2016, women have been innovating in the genre since its creation. This fun event is an opportunity for female jazz performers across the state to show off their talent. Plus, it’s a part of Alabama’s bicentennial celebrations too!
Day One
About: Start off the festivities in style! As guests sample refreshments, they can learn more about jazz from host Dr. Debbie Sue Esslinger. And yes, there will be tons of incredible live performances.

Day Two
About: Bring your blankets and lawn chairs! Now that the weather is cooling off, it’s the perfect month for outdoor performances. Listen to talented female performers, buy great food, and make memories on the second—and final—day of this event.

The festival is filled with fantastic performers! You can look forward to seeing musicians like:
- Women of the Huntsville Concert Band;
- Maxima; and
- Jolanta Wilson and the Letron Brantley Group.
Tickets
Don’t forget to buy your tickets here! They’ll cost $15 for day two of the festival and $20 for both days. If you’re a student at the University of Alabama at Huntsville, you can get into day two of the festival for free.
